The Henning Hornets came into Underwood and walked away victorious 78-46 Saturday afternoon.  The Hornets used their pressure defense to force Underwood into too many unforced errors and took a halftime lead of 40-25.  The Rockets were unable to overcome that deficit and the Henning pressure, eventually losing their final regular season game.

The Hornets were paced by Junior Tanner Arndt with 21 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds and 6 steals, and Sophomores Mason Hammer and Tyson Misegades added 19 and 16 points, respectively.  Misegades also had 6 steals. Calvin Stueve turned in a team high 8 assists and Joe Angell contributed 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists.

“We were a bit sloppy and sluggish all day, but we were able to create some turnovers and get out in transition to extend the lead in the second half,” noted Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Finishing 13-5 in the regular season was a nice accomplishment for our team. We are excited to host a playoff game Thursday night.”

The Rockets were led by Senior Krosby Aasness with 11 points, while Sophomore Cole Peterson and 7th grader Drew Evavold added 10 points apiece.

"We could not handle the pressure that Henning put on us today,” commented Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  “We knew it was coming, but weren't able to make adjustments to keep control of the basketball.  We'll go into the playoffs hungry for a win and eager to make up for the mistakes throughout the season."

Henning will take a 3 game winning streak and a 13-5 record into the post season.
