Otter Girls Win Eighth Straight Game

The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team made 8 of their 11 three’s in the first half as they raced out to a 50-21 halftime lead over the Rocori Spartans on Tuesday night.  The Otters increased their lead to as many as 49 points in the second half and finished with a 76-31 victory, holding Rocori to only ten second half points.

“Great energy tonight to start for the Otters,” said Head Coach Brad Strand.  “We love how our team is playing so hard for each other.”

Tori Ratz scored 20 of her game high 23 points in the first half and added 6 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.  Ellie Colbeck added 19 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals, and Logan Strom buried four 3’s to finish with 12 points on the night.  Anna Anderson collected 13 rebounds, including 8 offensive boards.  The Otters held a 51-31 advantage on the boards, grabbing a total of 20 offensive rebounds as a team.

Fergus Falls made 9-of-12 free throws in the game and shot 37.8% (28-74) on the night.  Rocori hit just 21.4% (12-56) of their shots.

The Otters won for the eighth straight time and improved to 11-3 on the season.  They will travel to St. Cloud to face Apollo on Thursday night.
