The Hancock girls’ basketball team remained unbeaten on the season when they recorded a 63-26 road win over Brandon-Evansville on Monday night.  The Owls led 34-9 at the half and held B-E to 20% (9-43) shooting on the night.

Rylee Hanson and Misti Zempel led Hancock with 13 and 12 points, respectively.  Tori Pahl added 8 points and 8 assists, and Carlee Hanson finished with 7 points.  Kaitlyn Staples led the Owls with 4 steals, while scoring 4 points, and Alexis Staples dished out 3 assists.

Bailey Schaefer led the home team with 11 points, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 rebounds.

“Hats off to Hancock, they are a very impressive team,” commented Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zachary Traphagen. “We never could get in any rhythm tonight offensively, a lot of that is a credit to them. We will learn from this one, forget about it, and move forward as a team to prepare for a very good West Central team on Thursday.”

Hancock (13-0) will host Minnewaska Area on Tuesday.

Brandon-Evansville (5-7) is home against West Central Area on Thursday and will play at Ashby on Saturday.
