The Rothsay boys basketball team traveled to Evansville to take on the Chargers Friday night.  The Little Eight matchup did not disappoint.  Rothsay took a 27-25 lead in to half.   The Tigers extended their lead to 6 midway through the half, but went cold.  Both teams exchanged baskets tying the game at 37 late in the game.  Matthew Danielson scored attacking the basket with 30 seconds to go to give Rothsay a 2 point lead.  After a stop defensively, Sam Danielson knocked down two free throws to seal the victory, 41-37.

“Our boys battled through some adversity tonight,” commented Rothsay Head Coach Taylor Fuhs.  “The Chargers shot the ball extremely well to start the game, but we buckled down and weathered the storm. In the second half the tempo of the game really slowed for both teams and both teams got some big stops.”

Rothsay was led by Colby Larson with 21 and Sam Danielson with 12.

Rothsay (6-7) will go on the road Monday for a game against Lake Park-Audubon.

Brandon-Evansville (4-9) has a game at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls on Monday.
