Henning trailed 14-13 at the half but kicked things into high gear in the second half outscoring Verndale 32-19 to register a 45-33 boys’ basketball victory over the Pirates.

“We are proud of the effort from our guys tonight and happy with the win against a quality, well-coached team,” stated Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We really had to battle and find a way in an ugly game. We were finally able to stretch the lead midway through the second half with 3’s from Tyson Misegades and Mason Hammer sandwiched around a pair of 3’s from Kale MisegadesEthan Houselog was solid defensively for us which was huge for our team. And Calvin Stueve gave us some quality minutes off the bench and did some nice things on both ends of the floor.”

Tyson Misegades scored 17 points to lead the way, making 4-of-9 shots from behind the arc.  Hammer was also in double figures with 12 points.  Tanner Arndt dished out 6 assists and pulled down 5 rebounds.  Houselog had a team high 6 rebounds.

Henning (7-3) will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in their next game on Tuesday night.
