The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team scored 42 first half points as they built a 19 point halftime lead on the way to a 67-42 victory over the Lumberjacks in Bemidji, winning for a fourth straight time.

The game started out with a fast pace as the lead changed hands five times before the Otters went on a ten point run to take a 17-8 lead. Logan Strom connected on three treys in the first half and Hannah Polejewski scored 8 of her 10 points in the first eighteen minutes to key the huge offensive first half for Fergus Falls.

“The girls got off to a great start,” said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters.  “Our passing created some easy scoring opportunities and we were able to get everyone involved!  Our effort on the defense end was incredible!”

Ellie Colbeck registered a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while distributing 7 assists.  Strom finished with 12 points on four 3’s and added 4 steals.  Tori Ratz had a team high 4 Assists.

Emily Wade scored 18 points to pace Bemidji.  The Lumberjacks saw their three game winning streak end with the loss.  The Otters held their leading scorer, Jackie Johnson to just 3 points in the game.

Fergus Falls (7-3) will entertain Sauk Rapids-Rice in a 2:30pm start on Saturday afternoon at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.
