The Henning boys’ basketball team overcame some offensive struggles on Tuesday night with some effective defensive play as they were able to record a 52-40 road win over Wadena-Deer Creek.

“This was a good PRC win on the road against a quality, experienced team,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades.  “We really struggled offensively, both shooting and taking care of the ball.  But, I was proud of our defensive effort.”

Tanner Arndt led three Hornets in double figures with 21 points, while adding 6 assists and 3 steals.  Mason Hammer finished with 12 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds and a pair of steals.  Joe Angell added 10 points and 6 boards.  Tyson Misegades contributed 6 points, 2 assists and 5 rebounds.

Henning hit 40% (22-54) of their shots from the field and made just 25% (6-24) from beyond the arc.

The Hornets (6-2) will play at New York Mills Friday.

Wadena-Deer Creek (5-2) had their three game winning streak end.  They will be at home against Pillagers on Friday night.
