Chance Fazio recorded a double-double with 30 points and 16 rebounds and Dominic Aguilar added 20 points, connecting on 4 3’s, to lead the Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team to their fourth in a row on Friday night, a 77-44 victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice. Fazio also had 3 blocked shots and 3 assists, while Aguilar dished out a team high 7 assists.
Fergus Falls never trailed in the game and led 39-25 at the half. They held the Storm to just 19 second half points. Sauk Rapids-Rice only made one two-point field goal the whole night. The Otters took good care of the ball as they only had 7 turnovers. Fergus Falls won the battle of the boards, 36-24. The Otters assisted on 21 of their 30 made field goals.
Abel Aho was also in double digit with 11 points, 9 coming on a trio of 3-pointers, and Luke Newman finished with 9 points and 4 assists.
Ethan Opsahl (13 points) and Andrew Harren (13 points, 6 rebounds) each had four 3’s to lead the Storm.
Fergus Falls shot the ball extremely well, hitting 62.5% (30-48), while Sauk Rapids-Rice shot a paltry 26.7% (12-45). The Storm also struggled at the line, making only 9-of-21 free throws.
Fergus Falls (5-2) will travel to Detroit Lakes to face the Lakers on Tuesday night.
