Bertha-Hewitt proved to be too much for the Underwood Rockets on Tuesday night, as the Bears were victorious 80-54. Bertha started the scoring early in the game and jumped out to a 16 point halftime lead. Underwood could not make a comeback and ended up on the losing end of a 26 point game.
The Bears placed three players in double figures, led by 20 points from Brendan Adams. Adams completed his double-double with 12 rebounds. Kole Weishalla added 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Aden Rach contributed 12 points, 3 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals. Ethan Wachin finished with 9 points, 5 boards and 2 steals, and Kane Hindzmann also had 9 points. Landan Adams added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, and Preston Miller dished out a team high 5 assists. Bertha-Hewitt made 50% (30-60) of their shots from the floor.
"Our defense was not able to slow down Bertha's offense tonight,” said Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece. “They scored a lot of buckets off of turnovers and second chances. Offensively, we did a nice job of putting some points up but it was too little too late."
Krosby Aasness scored a game high 25 points. Joey Kupfer added 10 points and 6 rebounds, and Gavin Pausch had 9 points and 3 assists. Jayden Harig dished out a team high 4 assists.
Bertha-Hewitt (1-3) will play at Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday night.
Underwood (0-6) is at Park Christian in Moorhead.
