“We pressured hard and had tremendous defensive intensity from the start,” said Barnesville Assistant Coach Tracy Hinsz. “We did a good job taking them out of their game and making them adjust on offense. We played with a lot of confidence and played about as well as we can.”
Adam Tonsfeldt led 3 Trojans in double digits with 25 points. He also had 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Kaden Zenzen scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, and Jack Nielsen had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
Barnesville shot 52% (23-44) from the field and held a 41-27 edge on the boards. Perham made only 34% (19-55) of their shots.
Finn Diggins led Perham with 15 points and Elijah Morris added 12. Diggins also led the team with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The Yellowjackets shot just 35.2% (19-54) from the field and made a third (9-27) of their three-point attempts.
Barnesville (2-0) will travel to Glyndon to face DGF on Thursday, January 28.
Perham (3-1) is at Frazee on Thursday night.
