The Henning boys’ basketball team scored 45 first half points as they built a 45-23 halftime lead and went on to defeat Bertha-Hewitt by the final score of 71-45.  The Bears shot just 30% from the floor, while Henning hit 46% (29-63) of their field goal attempts.

“We did a decent job getting to the basket during the first half, but struggled to knock down some shots from the perimeter,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades.  “We had some nice stretches defensively, but need to be more consistent with our effort on that end of the floor.”

Tanner Arndt led four Hornets in double figures with 20 points.  He also had 6 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.  Mason Hammer completed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while blocking 2 shots.  Tyson Misegades and Joe Angell added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Brendan Adams registered a double-double for the Bears, scoring 12 points and snaring 17 rebounds.  Ethan Wachlin finished with 11 points and Landan Adams distributed 3 assists.

Henning (2-1) will play at Menahga on Tuesday.

Bertha-Hewitt (0-2) will host Pillager on Tuesday night.
