Otter Girls Shutout by River Lakes

The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team managed just six shots on goal Saturday as the River Lakes Stars posted a 6-0 win over the Otters.  The home team had 29 shots on goal and Fergus Falls goaltender Lexi Metcalf came up with 23 stops.

River Lakes scored three times in the first period and added three more goals in the third period.  Goaltender Kaydence Roeske notched the shutout for the Stars.

Kianna Roeske recorded a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Stars.  Aubrey Griffin had two assists.

Roeske got the scoring started at 4:16 of the opening period with assists from Griffin and Olivia HainesMyckenzie Cremers made it 2-0 at 14:51 from Roeske and Aubree McDonagh.  Roeske’s power play goal with one second left in the first period was setup by Griffin and gave the Stars a 3-0 lead heading to the intermission.

The second period was scoreless, but River Lakes got goals from Jordyn Bebus, assisted by Brielle Cremers, Brianna Demming, from Brooke Lemke and Hannah Zimmer, and Roeske, unassisted, in the final period of play.
