Perham hit nine of their thirteen 3-point field goals in a 46-point second half Friday night as they overcame a nine-point first half deficit to defeat the Fergus Falls Otters by the score of 66-63.  The final made 3 came from Katie Johnson with just six seconds left, snapping a 63-63 tie.  It was Johnson’s fourth 3 of the second half.  She finished with 14 points after being held off the scoreboard in the first half.

Fergus Falls took advantage of 11 first half turnovers by the Yellowjackets to build a 9-point lead, however a late first half flurry cut the halftime lead for the Otters to 23-20 when Mya Morris buried her third 3 of the half at the buzzer.  Morris led Perham with 20 points, making six 3-pointers.  Perham took much better care of the ball in the second half with only 3 turnovers.

Grace Mickelson and Willow Thief each added ten points for Perham as they placed four players in double figures.  Sydney Anderson hit a pair of 3’s and had all 7 of her points after halftime.

Ellie Colbeck paced Fergus Falls with 22 points, making all 7 of her free throw attempts.  Ainsley Hansen came through with 13 points, 11 of them in the second half, and Paige Pearson was also in double digits with 10 points.  Logan Strom came off the bench to hit three 3’s, finishing with 9 points, and Tori Ratz had a pair of 3’s on the way to an 8 point night.

Fergus Falls will travel to Sartell on Tuesday and will host Brainerd in their home opener on Friday night.

Perham faces Frazee in a road contest on Thursday and then will return home for a 2:00pm game with Barnesville on Saturday, January 23 in Perham.
