The Barnesville Wrestling team has state qualifier Brady Kroll (182, SR) leading a group of six returning letter winners for the 2020-2019 season.  In addition to Kroll, the Trojans return Section placers Ayden Hauck (126, FR) and Tobias Elliot (220, SR), along with letter winners Jordan Kroll (195, SO), Tim Wells (HWT, SO) and Dawson Gregg (138, FR).

Looking to fill weight classes for the Trojans are freshmen Hunter Blilie (132), Asher O’Brien (106/113) and Gavin Grommesh (195), and seventh-graders Camerson Halverson (145) and Brock Grabow (106).

“We will be a young team once again this year, but a lot of our guys have varsity experience which will help,” commented second year Head Coach Stuart Brandt.  “We are excited about our newcomers coming into the room.  It will be a struggle to fill a full lineup every night, but the boys are willing to step up and fill in where we need to and worry about the matches we do have.  It will be a very interesting year, but we are up for the challenge and we are ready to compete.”

Brandt will be assisted by Zac Anderson and Jeff Titus with Chase Benner serving as a volunteer assistant.

Brandt says West Central Area and Bertha-Hewitt are the top teams in Section 6A, while Perham is the favorite in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference.
