A year ago the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Girls Basketball Team posted a 13-13 overall record and also won half of their ten games in the Pheasant Conference.  Reanna Ward broke the girls’ single season points record with 460 points and the senior forward leads a group of four returning starters for the 2020-2021 season.  The Wolverines lost Mataiah Turner, who averaged over 100 steals per season the last three years, to graduation.

Senior forwards Lora Botker and Emma Wulff, and sophomore guard Jessica Moberg join Ward as returning starters.  Sophomores Haley Ward (Forward), Abygail Sigler (Center), Mataya Gibson (Guard) and freshman Grace Cardwell (Guard) are also expected to contribute at the varsity level.  Botker and Ward will serve as captains.

“We bring a very talented group back, but lack depth as a team,” stated Head Coach Torey Issendorf.  “One of this groups’ biggest strengths is defense as we allowed just 42 points per game over the last two seasons.  There are some very good teams in both the conference and section.  I think Hancock and West Central Area are the favorites in the Pheasant Conference, while they will be joined by Henning and Underwood as top teams in Section 6A.  It should be a fun shortened season!”

Issendorf will be assisted by Tanner Teske.
