Last season Matt Thielen became the all-time scoring leader in boys’ basketball for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross as the Warriors finished the season with an 11-15 record.  Thielen has moved on to UM-Crookston where he will be playing baseball this spring, and the Warriors also lost Nick Lupkes and Michael Franzese to graduation.  With those losses Wheaton/Herman-Norcross will have a different look on the floor in 2020-2021.

“We will have a very young and exciting team,” commented third year Head Coach Jordon Roos.  “We will have a fairly guard heavy team, but have some athletic forwards as well.  We are looking forward to playing a fast-paced game and putting lots of pressure on our opponents.”

Returning letter winners include Zach Braaten (JR, Forward), Dylan Bainbridge (SO, Guard) and Clint Determan (SO, Forward).  Other players expected to contribute to the varsity lineup include Andrew Walker-Hanneman (SO, Guard), Gunner Martinek (SR, Forward) and Grant Dawson (SO, Guard).

Roos will be assisted by Dan Rinke and Carson Maudal.

Coach Roos says, “Ashby is a team to watch for in Section 6A.  Hancock and West Central Area will be very tough as well.  Hancock and WCA are probably the favorites in the Pheasant Conference.”
