Fergus Falls Gymnastics Coach Satera Harlow has high hopes for her team this season with a number of experienced returners.  The Otters lost only Mayson Jensen to graduation.  Leading the list of returning letter winners is senior Ashlyn Fronning who earned All-State Honorable Mention on Balance Beam and Floor Exercise last year.

Fronning, Isabelle Strege and Sierra Hatlewick will captain the Otters this year.  Strege is working her way back from injury.

Fronning and junior Kellen Frigaard are both All-Around performers for the Otters with Fronning’s top events being the uneven bars and the balance beam.  Frigaard is strongest on the beam and in floor exercise.  Other experienced gymnasts back for the Otters include junior Madison Muchow who is strong on the bars and the beam, sophomore Abigail Strege, who excels on the balance beam, and eighth-grader Aubrey Seedorf, who is strong on vault, floor exercise and bars.

“We are looking forward to a strong season with a lot of talent and some great routines we will be putting together,” said Harlow.  “Our main focus will be getting our strength and skills back from our extra time off.  We should be very strong in floor exercise and are looking to make improvements on the uneven bars.”

Harlow will be counting on junior Rachel Nordlund and eighth grader Mayah Fear to make contributions in floor competition, while sophomore Clarissa Heikes should be strong on vault and eighth-grader Mashayla Mau will look to add points on the balance beam.

Harlow, who will be assisted by James Harlow and Carrie Papon, says that Perham and Melrose will be the favorites in Section 8A, while Sartell and St. Cloud Tech/Apollo/Cathedral will be the top teams in the Central Lakes Conference.
