The only win for the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley boys’ basketball team last season came against Pheasant Conference rival, Ortonville.  The Wolverines lost only one player, Alex Sigler, to graduation.  That means that incoming Head Coach Rick Gilsdorf inherits a team that features seven players with extensive varsity court time.

“We have all five starters returning, in fact all seven players who contributed last season are back,” acknowledged Gilsdorf.  “All of them, except Nate Moberg (Point Guard) and Taylor Siefert (Center) are still underclassmen.  We expect to be much improved from the last couple of season.  We are still a little on the small side and tend to struggle against the big post players.”

Juniors Charles Kleindl (Guard/Forward), Ryan Geray (Forward), Isaac Haanen (Forward) and Jens Jorgenson (Guard), are joined by sophomore Cole Gilsdorf (Guard/Point Guard) as the other returners.

Senior Alex Thorson (Guard) and junior Kaleb Johnson (Center) are also expected to contribute at the varsity level.

Matt Swanson (JV) and Kayla Holtz (JR High) will assist Coach Gilsdorf.

As for the conference and section races, Gilsdorf says, “Hancock and West Central Area are poised for great seasons.”
