The Underwood Rockets had only two wins a year ago, but they did impact the boys’ record book in a few different categories.  Their strong rebounding was third all-time in average rebounds per game and fifth all-time in total rebounds.  The loss of graduating seniors Winston Heifort (10th all-time in career rebounds) and Canaan Kugler (4th all-time in career 3-pointers made) will be felt as the Rockets enter the 2020-2021 season with senior guard Krosby Aasness as the only returning starter.

Two other letter winners, senior forward Bryce Jorgenson and junior guard Izic Albright also return.  Aasness and Joey Kupfer will serve as team captains.  Underwood is also hoping freshman guard Gavin Pausch in ready to contribute at the varsity level.

“Our team will have some youth and hopefully our seniors can lead that youth to the next level,” commented Head Coach Evan Meece, now in his third year leading the Rockets.  “Our depth is going to be a concern this year, so our regulars will need to be able to step up and control the game as much as possible.”

Ryan Hendrickson will serve as assistant coach.

Coach Meece sees Parkers Prairie, West Central Area and Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal as the top teams in Section 6A.
