Last year Hancock Center Matt Thompson set the single season rebound record for the Owls as a sophomore.  As a junior, Thompson joins seniors Preston Rohloff (Guard), Kody Berget (Guard) and Adam Shaw (Guard) as returning letter winners for the Owls as they look to extend their streak of 20-win season to four in 2020-2021.

Other key players returning for the Owls are seniors Brandon Kellenberger (Guard), Isaac Nienhaus (Forward) and Taylor Hanson (Forward), junior Luke Joos (Guard) and sophomore Sebastian Felix (Guard).

“We have a good amount of experience coming back which we hope will help us this season,” said Head Coach Cory Bedel, now in his eleventh year.  “We have good leadership coming back with our senior captains (Rohloff, Shaw, Kellenberger, Berget).  We lost some height so we will be a smaller team, and we lost some good ball handlers and good defensive players to graduation.”

Bedel says West Central Area is the top team in the Pheasant Conference, while Ashby and West Central Area are his picks as favorites in Section 6A.

Nate Holleman, Peyton Rohloff and Corey Ascheman will serve as assistant coaches for the Owls.
