Parkers Prairie senior Kieda Wagner participated in both volleyball and softball for the Panthers and she hopes to continue in one or both starts as she heads to UM-Morris next fall.  She has been very active in a number of extra-curricular activities including Speech, Theatre/One Act Play, Minnesota Honor Society, Choir and Esther Lutheran Church Youth Group.

“My favorite sports memory is when my volleyball team and I went to Luther Crest Bible Camp for a team bonding activity,” shared Wagner.  “We were able to do the High Challenge Course and the Zip Line.  I loved being high up above the ground and taking leaps of faith while springing out to the next landing perch.”

Wagner will major English with an interest in Creative Writing and Theatre at UM-Morris and also plans to obtain a Fine Carpentry Apprenticeship during the summers.

“Kieda is one of the hardest working players I have coached,” stated Head Volleyball Coach Amy Revering.  “She has brought consistency to our front row with her hitting and her blocking.  Not only is she a valuable asset to the team physically, but also mentally.  Kieda has a calm demeanor, no matter what the situation on the court.  She is not one to cave under pressure.  Kieda brings laughter with her one-liners and support with her encouraging words to her teammates.  Her work ethic and the support she gives her teammates will be missed!”

Wagner lists Shop, Theatre and Art classes as her favorites.

“Sports have helped me to develop my communication, teamwork and athletic skills,” noted Wagner.  “To the underclassmen, don’t let the world define you, define yourself and be who you are without fear.  Happiness is worth more than other people’s words anyway.”
