Involvement in Volleyball, Basketball, Track and Field and Fishing League kept Parkers Prairie senior Faith Alberts busy throughout the school year, however, she also found time to be active in History Club, Knowledge Bowl, Band, Student Council and as a member of the Minnesota Honor Society.

Alberts will be attending Concordia College in St. Paul where she will play basketball while majoring in Finance.  Her favorite high school subject is Math.

“Faith is a competitor, regardless of what sport she is playing,” commented Head Volleyball Coach Amy Revering.  “She has a desire to win and always wants the ball with the game on the line.  Even though she ‘means business’, she has a lot of fun on the court, too!  She loves to crack jokes and does a great job of knowing when to be serious and when to lighten things up.  She is an incredible volleyball player, definitely one of the players that I want receiving a lot of sets.  A lot of young girls in the program look to her as an inspiration.  I am grateful she left her mark on the Panther volleyball program.”

As for her advice to underclassmen, Faith simply says, “Have fun and enjoy it while you can.”

“Making it to the section championship game in basketball, scoring 1000 career points and winning the conference in basketball four years in a row rank as my top sports memories,” said Alberts.

Faith was a two-time all-conference performer in volleyball and a four-time all-conference selection and two-time all-state honorable mention choice in basketball.  Awards include Best Offensive Player in basketball, twice, Most Improved Player in basketball and volleyball, and Best Offensive Player in volleyball.  She was also a captain in both basketball and volleyball.

“Sports have been a huge part of my life,” said Alberts.  “They have brought me friends that will last a lifetime.  High School Basketball, along with AAU, allowed me to travel to thirty-six states, meet a lot of new people, and obtain a college scholarship.”
