One thing is certain about Ellie Reierson’s days at Frazee High School and that is that they were filled with a variety of activities throughout each year.  Athletically she played volleyball and basketball, and competed in track and field.  She was also active in Student Council, National Honor Society, Band, Prom Committee, Tutoring, Baking, Helping at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Interact Club, Youth Basketball Coaching, and made the A Honor Roll and the Deans List at M-State in Detroit Lakes.

Reierson plans on attending the University of North Dakota where she will major in Accounting and either Pre-Dentistry or Pre-Physical Therapy, while possibly participating in track or volleyball.  Her favorite high school subject is Math.

“Ellie has been a part of the Varsity Volleyball Team since 10th grade,” commented Head Coach Andy Paulson. “She has always proven to be a hard worker both during the season and in the off season. She has grown into an outstanding middle player both offensively and defensively. She can "jump out of the gym" allowing her to be successful in her hitting attempts as well as blocking. Ellie is a great team player and is always willing to do what is best for the team and her teammates.”

Frazee Girls Basketball Coach Jason Reierson says “Ellie has been a staple in our defense and rebounding for a couple of years.  She works hard in practice to be in the best physical shape she can be.  She worked this summer on being more consistent on the offensive end.”

“Being in sports has impacted my life immensely,” shared Reierson.  “The friendships that I have gained and the competitiveness has carried throughout my whole life.  Sports have also taught me many life lessons that I will remember forever.”

Her favorite quote is from Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski who said, “If what you did yesterday still looks big to you, you haven’t done much today.”

She was an All-Conference basketball player in the HOL, earned the Attitude, Preparation and Effort (APE) Award for Basketball, along with the Most Improved Player award, and set a record for most blocks in a season in 2019.  She won the Spotlight on Scholarship in all 3 sports and was a State participant in track in 2017, 2018 and 2019, earning Academic All-State honors each of those years.

“One of the best memories that I have with sports took place in track,” said Reierson.  “I had the privilege to go to state as a seventh grader as an alternate and then continued to go as a part of the team for the next three years. In eighth grade I participated in the 4 x 100 relay which broke the school record at the state meet.  In ninth grade I participated in the 4 x 100 relay, getting seventh place and the 4 x 200 relay getting sixth place.  We ended up breaking both of those school records and still have them to this day.  In my tenth grad year we went to state again for the 4 x 200 relay.”
