Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Cross Country Awards

The Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Cross Country Team has handed out their team awards for the recently completed 2020 season.


Letter Winners.

The boys had four runners earn All-Conference honors for placing in the top 15 in the conference, and also placed two runners as honorable mention All-Conference performers for finishing in the top twenty.

Hunter Norby (5th), Micah Fossell (10th), Wes Siira (12th) and Matson Hoff (15th) were All-Conference, while Jayden Hoidahl (17th) and Logan Froemming (18th) were All-Conference Honorable Mention.  Other letter winners were Lucas Fuller, Solomon Wales, Kian Gackle, Jacob Cook, Titus Fuller and Jaden Norby.  Jaden and Wes Siira served as captains and Jaden and Miles Hoff were Conference Academic Award winners as seniors registering a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Individual award winners for the boys were Hunter Norby (Newcomer of the Year), Jaden Norby (Teammate of the Year, Extra Mile Award) and Matson Hoff (Most Improved).

Girls individual awards went to Lucea Wales (Newcomer of the Year, Extra Mile Award), Cailey Schlosser (Teammate of the Year) and Hannah Korkowski (Most Improved).  Schlosser also earned the Conference Academic Award as a senior maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher.

The Newcomer Award is presented to the person who made the team better this season.  The Teammate Award goes to the person who is the best teammate, cheers the loudest and helps everyone else in practice and meets to be better.  The Extra Mile Award is given to the person who outworks everyone on a consistent basis.  They do extra runs on weekends and push for more day-in and day-out.  The Most Improved Award goes to the person who made significant improvement throughout the year.

Other letter winners for the girls were Courtney Brethorst, Gretchen Bredberg, Emma Erickson and Kaytlyn Pattrin.
