“Sports have brought me some of the best friendships and taught me responsibility, time management and good work ethic,” noted Anderson.  “I think with COVID, if you haven’t learned it yet, nothing should be taken for granted.  Immerse yourself in everything you do and feel it completely because you never know if you will get another moment doing your sport or being with your team.”

Track and Field Coach Nike Welde had high praise for Anna, saying, “Anna has had a huge impact on our program. She leads by example by working hard and having a great attitude.  Those things added to her natural talents have led her to find great success in our sport.  She is also a very calming person on the team when nerves are frayed.  Teammates gravitate towards her.  Not only does she impact our High School team, but she also goes out of her way to help with our youth programs.  We can always rely on her to be a strong leader with our young athletes.”

Anna’s top sports memory was, “beating Alexandria in a shootout my sophomore soccer season.”  She lists Math and Geography as her favorite high school subjects.

“Anna loves to be a leader and she is great at it,” commented Head Girls Soccer Coach Ben Jurgens.  “She’s versatile and most importantly willing to play any position the team needs.  Anna is a true Otter athlete!”

Head Girls Basketball Coach Brad Strand agrees, “Anna has been an important member of our program for the past 3 years, helping us to win the section 2019 and finish as runners-up in 2020.  She is a strong leader on and off the floor and is extremely coachable.  We are looking forward to great things from Anna her senior year!”

Anderson’s favorite quote is from Taylor Swift who said, “No matter what happens in life, be good to people.  Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.”
