The memory of his Mom and his faith have carried Frazee senior Broden Fleisher through the good times and the down times during his high school journey.  The three-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball) doesn’t hesitate to share the importance of being involved in athletics to help deal with the tough things in life.  “When my Mom passed away from breast cancer, I had a hard time with my school work and home life.  My involvement in sports kept me on the right track.  I wear pink basketball shoes, baseball cleats, and football cleats in honor of my Mom.”

When asked to share a favorite quote he goes directly to the Bible, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  That passage can be found in Phillipians 4:13.

Fleisher is planning on attending college and hopes to major in Elementary Education while participating in Football.  His favorite high school subjects are Math and Chemistry.  He has also been involved on the Prom Committee and is a member of the Knowledge Bowl team at Frazee.

“Broden is a tremendous competitor, a dedicated teammate, and a good role model for our youth in our community,” says Head Baseball Coach Andy Mekalson.  “As a Hornet baseball player, Broden is a game changer when he’s on the diamond.  His speed in center field and on the bases is matched by few.  When he’s not competing on the diamond, basketball court, or football field, he’s passing his knowledge on by coaching/volunteering for summer rec teams, Saturday morning ‘BumbleBee’ basketball, and taking on other youth teams when possible.  Broden gives true meaning to grit and determination.”

Fleisher said one of his top sports memories was when he and his brother each reached the 1,000 career point mark in basketball during the same season.

“You only have so many years of high school, make friends and memories, just live the moment and don’t live back.”  Words to underclassmen from Broden Fleisher.
