The Brandon-Evansville Chargers went to Parkers Prairie on Thursday night and returned home with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-14) Little Eight Conference win over the Panthers.

Leaders for B-E were Bailey Schaefer (15 kills, 1 block, 10 digs, 17/17 serving, 2 aces), Mikenna Pattrin (10 kills, 1 block), Kylee Dingwall (4 kills, 2 blocks, 7 digs, 7/8 serving, 1 ace), Gretchen Bredberg (3 kills, 2 blocks, 11/11 serving, 1 ace), Grace Otto (11 digs), Taylor Yeats (17/17 serving, 6 digs), Korrie Randt (28 set assists, 4 digs, 9/10 serving) and Morgan Bitzan (8/9 serving, 2 aces).

“With the season winding down due to reasons beyond our control, we wanted to go into Parkers tonight not worrying about things we couldn’t change,” noted B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson. “We could control how we served, and passed, and played together. The players have worked hard to shore things up defensively and run a balanced attack these last few weeks. Both losses we had taught us the things we needed to work on. Tonight we took on a Parkers team that was much better than the first time we played. I thought that first set tonight we had too much indecision and our continuity suffered. Three balls dropped, which is uncharacteristic for us. The kids cleaned it up and we stuck to the game plan. By the third set we were playing very well. Korrie Randt kept us balanced and Mikenna and Bailey did a great job finishing the rallies. I also though Kylee Dingwall had so many good swings. Her kill numbers were not high but Parkers did a great job of digging her. I could see her with 5-6 more kills if they don’t pop some tough balls up. Our serving was strong and strategic as well. Morgan Bitzan was needed again tonight from the line. Taylor Yeats also did great from the line as well as playing some really good defense. She even ran through the front row for us when our OH needed time to refocus. She can do a lot for us. Overall, a really nice team win tonight in Parkers. We are proud of this group for the way they persevered through this messy end of the season. They are a tough group.”

The Chargers will host Park Christian School on Friday night in Evansville, while the Panthers play host to Battle Lake.
