The Pelican Rapids Vikings hosted the DGF Rebels on Thursday.  As a result of volleyball being paused as of Saturday this was the Vikings last home game of the season.  DGF recorded a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-10) victory.

“We honored a great group of seniors Allie Haiby, Greta Tollefson, Anna Stephenson, and Kiera Booth,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach Heidi Isaman.  “Thank you seniors for all you have done for the volleyball program.  You will all be greatly missed.”

The Vikings were missing a few starters and once again 8th graders Anna Roisum and Hazel Haugrud did a great job filling those roles. “Hazel Haugrud played tough and got a lot of digs for us and Anna Roisum did a good job of setting our block and played aggressive on the offensive end,” noted Coach Isaman. “The Vikings blocked much better tonight against the strong hitting Rebels.  Ellie Welch really did a great job pressing the net to get a few huge blocks for us and middle hitter Anna Stephenson had a few big touches as well.  When we were in system the Vikings did hit the ball very well but we had trouble keeping ourselves in system and getting all our hitters the ball.  We were also a bit out of sorts on the defensive end and had some miscommunication.”

The Vikings were led by Anna Stephenson (7 kills, 6 digs), Kelsey Isaman (15 digs), Haugrud (13 digs), Sophia Paulson (8 set assists, 5 digs) and Welch (3.5 blocks).

The Vikings will end their season Friday at Hawley.
