The West Central Area Knights were 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18) winners at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Tuesday night.

“We have had a couple of tough games of late, losing the last three matches,” stated West Central Area Head coach Missy Foslien. “They've struggled with some injuries and quarantined athletes, losing two starters this week as setter Macy Grosz and outside hitter Mya Foslien are out until next week. Eighth grader Sophie Sanstead, jumped in these past couple of games to fill the role as setter and she's done a great job!”

“We were in need of a good performance against the Comets,” continued Coach Foslien. “Elizabeth Rustan came through, going 20 for 22 with 10 kills and two ace blocks. Morgan Stark was back to her old self, with some nice swings on the outside. We need those two to be leaders for us, and they have had a few rough games lately which shook their confidence a bit. If we can put the ball in their hands we as a team know they will execute an aggressive play.  Halle Foslien also had a good night at the net, going 15 for 15 with six kills. Brooke Anderson moved to outside hitter, going 18 for 19 with six kills also. As a team we had a total of twelve ace serves. Steady and aggressive serving was key for us tonight. Serving was definitely an issue for Hillcrest as they missed several serves, giving the Knights some easy points each game.”

The Knights will face the Ortonville Trojans next Tuesday.

Hillcrest will travel to Twin Valley on Thursday for a match against Norman Country East/Ulen-Hitterdal.
