The Hancock volleyball team posted a 3-0 home court victory over the West Central Area Knights on Thursday night, winning 25-17, 25-12, 26-24.

“We were without our starting setter, Macy Grosz, due to an injury, so eighth grader Sophie Sanstead stepped up and did a nice job setting out of the back row, while Kennedy Ulrich helped out in the front row,” reported Head Coach Missy Foslien. “While the Knights played very good defense and had several touches and blocks, the Owls defense and coverage made it hard for the Knights to execute and finish plays.  We are in a little slump right now with a couple of our hitters. We need to get our confidence back and are hoping that our next couple of games will give us that opportunity.” T

WCA was led by Halle Foslien (7 kills), Brooke Anderson (13/13 serving, 15 digs), Kaitlyn Hansen (19 digs), Sanstead (12 digs, 8 set assists, 6/6 serving, 1 ace), Mya Foslien (8/9 serving, 1 ace, 6 digs) and Morgan Stark (7 digs).

The Knights will face Hillcrest next Tuesday.

No Hancock stats were reported.
