The Ashby volleyball team traveled to Ortonville on Tuesday night and brought home a 3-1 (14-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-23) victory over the Trojans.

“Things really came together on the court tonight for the girls and I couldn't be happier with how they fought throughout, and never gave up,” said Ashby Head Coach Hayley Stevens. “Communication was rocky the first set but we made a couple adjustments in the lineup and the girls got in a groove. Our serving game was strong and the girls hit crucial serves to finish off sets. We were back to attacking more and our passes looked sharp which showed in the amount of times we were able to set up our hitters. Making major changes in our defense from last week paid off as well and our movement on the court was more fluid after spending most of practice yesterday on new adjustments. This was a full on collaborative effort where every team member did their job well.”

Leaders for the Arrows were Catherine Koefod (9/12 serving, 23 set assists, 6 digs), Celi Nelson (13/13 serving, 3 aces, 7 kills, 36 digs), Haleigh Brendmoen (9/9 serving, 1 ace, 10 kills, 18 digs), Madeline Thompson (14/16 serving, 2 aces, 9 digs), Ryleigh Brendmoen (20/22 serving, 4 aces, 3 kills, 37 digs), Tarryn Hill (13/13 serving, 1 ace, 20 digs) and Anissa Heinrich (2/2 serving, 10 kills, 6 digs).  As a team Ashby served 92% in the match.

The Arrows will host Battle Lake Thursday night and will play Hancock on Monday.
