Fergus Falls put together two good wins to start their match against St. Cloud Apollo on Tuesday night, winning 25-21 and 25-20, however, they then lost 25-17 and 25-16 in the third and fourth sets, forcing a decisive fifth set.  The Otters jumped out to a 6-1 lead in that final set and went on to record a 15-11 victory, leaving St. Cloud with a 3-2 win and evening their record at 2 wins and 2 losses on the season.

“We played hard, changed our lineup a bit, and worked out some kinks, but overall, the girls fought hard and had a lot of energy on the court,” said Head Coach Sabrina Noon of the Otters.  “When we played aggressive, we controlled the court, but when we started to let up, Apollo took advantage of that. They have a lot of hustle and took a lot of swings. I am glad our girls dug their heels in at the end to take the win.”

The Otters were led by Hannah Prody (11 kills, 4 blocks, 1 ace serve), Logan Strom (12 digs, 1 ace serve), Tori Ratz (12 digs, 9 kills), Laci Strom (39 set assists, 1 ace serve), Makayla Huus (10 digs, 3 ace serves), Katie Strommen (4 blocks, 5 kills), Alexis Ouren (5 blocks, 4 kills), Alaina Anderson (2 blocks, 7 kills) and Paige Pearson (2 blocks, 4 kills).

Junior outside hitter Noelle Hackenmueller led the Eagles with 15 kills, while Paige Cox finished with 11.  Junior Jaida Hansen came off the bench in the final three sets to register 7 kills.

Fergus Falls will host St. Cloud Tech on Thursday night.
