D-G-F Wins in Perham

D-G-F paid a visit to Ten Meinhover Field in Perham on Friday night and the Rebels recorded a 13-8 win over the Yellowjackets.  D-G-F improves to 2-0 with the win and Perham falls to 1-1 with the loss.

 

Justin Wang got in the end zone with 9:35 left in the first half to break a scoreless tie, scoring on a one yard run.  The McKale Pierson extra point kick gave the Rebels a 7-0 lead and that stood up until halftime.

Perham went ahead with just 11 seconds remaining in the third quarter when Colton Hackel scored on a 2-yard run and then added a 2-point conversion run to give the Yellowjackets an 8-7 advantage.

D-G-F regained the lead at 13-8 on a 7 yard run by Wang with 10:26 left in the game and the Rebels were able to hold on for the win.

The Rebels ran for 203 yards on the night, led by 188 yards on 36 carries for Wang.

Hackel led Perham with 61 yards rushing on 21 carries.  He also completed 12-of-23 passes for 75 yards and was sacked twice.  Finn Diggins caught seven balls for 40 yards.  Perham was held to 141 total yards with 75 passing yards and 66 yards on the ground.

Defensive leaders for the Yellowjackets were Gabe Thompson with a pair of interceptions, 6 tackles and a pass breakup, Chas Melvin with an interception and 2 pass breakups, Diggins with 17 tackles (10 solo, 7 assisted) and two sacks, Brian Ramos with 17 tackles (11 solo, 6 assisted), Gordon Martinez with 15 tackles (9 solo, 6 assisted) and Caleb Lund with 12 tackles (8 solo, 4 assisted), two sacks and a forced fumble.  Aaron Burr recovered a fumble for Perham.
