Bemidji's Peyton Oelrich scored five goals to lead a powerful Bemidji attack on Tuesday night as the Lumberjacks eliminated the Hillcrest/Underwood Comets in the opening round of the Section 8A Soccer playoffs, 8-0.

Addy Kelly got the scoring started when she intercepted a Hillcrest clearing attempt and drilled the ball into the net with 33:09 to play in the first half.  Oelrich then scored three straight goals, two of them assisted by Emma Wright, giving Bemidji a 4-0 halftime lead.

Oelrich didn't waste any time notching her fourth goal of the night as she scored just 33 seconds into the second half, assisted by Miah Stone.  Wright then scored from Sophia Morin at 28:22 and Kate Martin netted a goal with 11:11 remaining, setup by Josie Aitken.  Oelrich's final tally came with 6:15 to play, assisted my Morin.

Bemidji put 22 shots on the Hillcrest net, while the Comets managed just one shot on goal.

Hillcrest ends their season with a 5-6 record.  Every game they played ended in a shutout.

Bemidji will now advance to face top-seeded East Grand Forks on Thursday.  East Grand posted a 6-1 win over Crookston on Tuesday.  Detroit Lakes eliminated Fergus Falls 2-1 and Alexandria was a 10-0 winner over Pelican Rapids in other first round games.
