The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys' Soccer team was defeated by the number one ranked team in the North of Section 8A, Pelican Rapids, by the score of 10-1 in the first round of the Section 8A North playoffs on Monday afternoon.

This is the second time in just a little over a week that the Vikings thumped the Comets, beating then on October 3 by a margin of eight goals (score was 9-1).  “The fact that the Vikings beat the Comets in those two games by a margin of 19 goals to 2 goals is a testament to what a skilled and good team they are," said Comet Head Coach Rod Jensen.”

Forty minutes into the game (halftime), the Comets were down seven goals!  The Comets only tally was at 66 minutes into the contest, when Senior Captain, Zeke Ihrke, was awarded a PK following a take down in the box.  Ihrke was successful on his PK attempt.  The Vikings added three more goals in the second half to end all scoring.

The Comets end their season with a record of 0-0-11.  “Not a way you would like to end your season, but, this remarkable group of young men, learned, as in life, things don’t always turn out the way you want, but, the important thing is, never give up and do your best at all times… Col 3:17," added Coach Jensen.

The Comets wish the Vikings the best during the rest of the section tournament!
