John Reber is a first year head coach for the Rothsay Tigers volleyball team, however, his years as an assistant has him very familiar with the program.

“I’ve had the opportunity to coach most of this group of girls at younger levels in club volleyball,” reported Reber.  “They really do work well together.  They celebrate each other’s successes and help each other through struggles as one unit.  Skill-wise, I feel like we’re good in most area, but we’ll need work to become great in one or two areas if we want to become as successful as we hope to be.”

Losing first team All-Conference standout Jenna Fabre and second team All-Conference player Jayna Gronewold to graduation has created a couple of big holes.

Returning letter winners are seniors Grace Lider (OH/MH) and Lilly Wheelright (OH/RH), juniors Chase Balken (S/RH) and Summer Wigdahl (MH/Libero), and sophomores Kenadi Carlsrud (OH/MH) and Madison Tillman (OH/RH).

Also looking to contribute at the varsity level are junior Lillian Krupich (MH), sophomores Emma Buckingham (S/RH), Katie Reber (OH/S) and Kylie Van Cleef (OH/DS), and freshmen Kali Brandt (MH), Elli Meyer (S), and Gracyn Petersen (OH).

Kellie Barry, Stephanie Curtis and Heather Reber will assist Coach Reber.

“If our players can focus on improving each day and build up their personal confidence a bit, I think we should have a solid team on the court,” concluded Coach Reber.

Reber says Brandon-Evansville, Parkers Prairie and Underwood will be the top teams in a strong Little Eight Conference.
