The numbers are thin, but the experience is deep for the Rothsay football team.  The Tigers lost their three seniors to graduation and they were impact players, Ethan Curtis, Noah Fiedler and Nick Wiezorek.

“We are still young with only three seniors, but having only three seniors last year we have plenty of experience among our underclassmen,” said Head Coach Josh Nordick, now entering his fifth season with the Tigers.  “We have some speed and size, but lack depth.  We may have the best running back and lineman in the District, but will need others to step up and take some of the focus off of them.”

Returning seniors are All-District players Colby Larson (OL/DL) and Karsyn Zilmer (OL/DL), along with Ethan Bennett (OL/DL).  Other returning starters include juniors Chris Carrillo (OL/DL) and Sam Danielson (RB/LB), and sophomore Mason Kadel (RB/LB).

Juniors Jeff Kulack (TE/DE), Gage Johansen (RB/DB) and Trevin Erickson (RB/DB) are newcomers expected to contribute to the varsity team this season.

Nordick, who will be assisted by Joel Meyer and Kyle Wagers points to Hancock as the favorite in Section 4 9man and District 9 West (South).
