The Moorhead Spuds hammered home six goals in the first half on Monday night as they defeated the Fergus Falls girls' soccer team by the score of 8-1.  Four of the goals came in the last 20 minutes of the half.

The Otters got on the board in the second half when Rylynn Krein crashed the net and finished strong.  The Spuds added a pair of second half goals to conclude the scoring on the night.

"The girls' played hard and never quit," said Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  "Each ten minute span we kept them from scoring allows us to better prepare for a lead we may have in the playoffs and choose to play a defensive style toward the end of a match.  They came at us all night.  They pulled their starters with ten minutes left.  Our girls should be proud of their second half."

Fergus Falls will travel to Alexandria for a game on Thursday night.
