The Fergus Falls boys' soccer team put up a good fight in the first half of their game in Willmar on Tuesday night, trailing 1-0 at halftime, however, the Cardinals exploded for six second half goals to record a 7-0 victory over the winless Otters (0-6).

Dahir Mohamed made a nice move to avoid the Otter defense, burying a shot past keeper Ian Stumbo less than five minutes into the game.  After that, the rest of the half was scoreless, although Willmar dominated possession time and had a definite territorial advantage.

A penalty kick just over six minutes into the second half resulted in the second Willmar goal as Gabriel Rodriguez tucked the ball inside the right post.  Just 1:24 later Jemil Osman scored his first of what would be three goals on the night, giving Willmar a 3-0 lead.

A Cardinal corner kick, initiated by Anthony Reyes Jimenez led to the fourth goal off a header by Osman.   Hido Martinez Coto scored with 13:24 remaining and Osman completed the hat trick less than a minute later to give the home team a 6-0 advantage.  The final goal was an 'own goal' as the ball got away from Stumbo after he made a save and slid into the net.

Fergus Falls will host Bemidji in a 7:00pm game on Thursday.
