“St. Cloud’s top three singles players played really top notch tennis tonight,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Jamie Lill.  “Their 1 and 2 played almost flawlessly and earned routine wins.  Isabella Abrahams found herself quickly down a 6-0 set before really turning up the intensity in the second. Bella found ways to work her opponent all around the court, wearing her down a bit. It was a total grind, but Bella fell 7-5 in the second. Mia Marsh earned the lone singles victory in our lineup today with a quick 6-1, 6-1 win at 4th singles. Mia is playing with confidence and consistency. She’s willing to stay in points for the duration and it’s winning her matches right now.”

The other wins came at 2 and 3 doubles.  “Hannah Prody and Ashtyn Lill bumped up to 2 dubs in our lineup tonight and did a very nice job,” noted Lill.  “They have a rhythm going right now and even with a bit more pace that comes at 2nd doubles, they handled everything very well.  Mackenzie Krava and Amber Anderson picked up a nice, close, third set tiebreak win for us in that 3rd doubles slot. This duo is working on some different court formations and just getting used to one another as a doubles team in general.  These girls battled well for us tonight.  This match was a back and forth grind.”  

Tuesday the Otters host Willmar in a 4:30 dual at Broadway Park.

Doubles:
1. Kylie Starren/Leah Donnelly (S) defeated Ava Weber/Leila Nasri (FF) 6-3, 6-1.
2. Hannah Prody/Ashtyn Lill (FF) defeated Brooke Wilfong/Olivia Baverly (S) 6-3, 6-3.
3. Mackenzie Krava/Amber Anderson (FF) defeated Anna Miller/Abby Brown (S) 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(5).
