The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys Soccer team was defeated by the East Grand Forks Greenwave on Monday in EGF by the score of 5-1.

East Grand Forks scored two early goals at four minutes and 16 minutes to take an early lead.  Freshman midfielder, Abram Ness, scored his first varsity goal at 17 minutes in on a 35 yard free kick, tucked in nicely just under the cross bar.  Two more goals for the Greenwave, one, a PK following a Comet handball in the box, resulted in halftime score 4-1.  The Greenwave added one more goal at 79 minutes into the contest to end all scoring.

“Not indicative by the score, the Comets turned the corner and played a good solid game tonight,” commented Head Coach Rod Jensen.  “We had strong defensive efforts from Cole Peterson, Soren Floden, Zayne Weinrich, Ben Christenson, and Tray Carls.  Our offense created several nice attacks on the Greenwave goal.  Zeke Ihrke, Drew Fischer, Juin Moon, and Gabe Swedenburg really came together tonight to advance the ball on our attacks.”

The Comets now 0-3, travel to Prinsburg, MN to take on Central MN Christian on Saturday.
