Senior Ellie Andersen initiated an Otter corner kick with just over 27 minutes remaining in the game Tuesday and senior Anna Anderson headed it into the net for the only goal of the night as Fergus Falls registered a 1-0 road win over Sauk Rapids-Rice.  It was the Otters first win of the season.

"The team came out in the first half and really showed our aggressiveness winning almost every 50/50 ball," reported Head Coach Ben Jurgens of the Otters.  "The possession was primarily controlled by the Otters, however, the Storm did mount several counter-attacks that our defense handled well and Svea Smestad made solid saves."

The Storm came out much more aggressive in the second half and created many scoring opportunities, although they came up empty.

"Once again our defense did a nice job recovering and Svea was up to the task, saving several quality opportunities," noted Jurgens.

Lexi Metcalf scored two goals, while Madi Budke added one in the Otters 3-0 JV victory.

The Otters play Rocori at home on Thursday at the Stadium Field with the JV starting at 5 and the varsity at 7.

The Otter boys game with Sauk Rapids-Rice was postponed and has not been rescheduled at this time.
