As a tune-up for their state tournament appearance this coming weekend, the Fergus Falls Hurricanes played a game against the Moorhead Brewers at Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo on Tuesday night.  The Brewers collected 10 hits on the way to an 8-0 win over the ‘Canes, holding the Fergus Falls team to just four hits in the game.

Brook Lyter (3IP, 2H, 1BB, 2K) was the second of five Moorhead pitchers, earning the victory.  The ‘Canes managed only four singles against those pitchers, one each from Tosten Mann, Sean McGuire, Pete Gaustad and Austin Stanislawski.

Moorhead was led by Jayse McLean (2-3, 3R, HR, 2BB, 2RBI), Tanner Adam (2-4, 3B, 4RBI) and Brandt Kolpack (2-4, 2R, SB).

“In a tune-up exhibition game our bats were silenced by five different Moorhead pitchers,” said Manager Davy Johnson of the Hurricanes.  “Two weeks off is too long between games.  Even though we didn’t hit well, with the intensity of the State Tournament, I believe our bats will come alive.”
