The Fergus Falls 13U team swept a double header Thursday night in Dilworth, winning both games by identical 9-5 scores.  They won in two different fashions as they came from behind in Game One, and built an early lead and hung on in Game Two.

In the first game, the Otters fell behind 5-1 after four innings, but scored the final 8 runs of the game with two runs in the 5th, four runs in the 6th, and two more runs in the 7th.

The Otters were led at the plate by Jack Ratz, Luke Pearson, Lucas Hanson, and Levi King as they each collected two hits.  Aikhem Bethel, Brock Scheuerman, and Logan Larson had one hit apiece.  Ratz and Scheuerman both had 2 RBI while Pearson, Larson, and Bethel drove in one run each.  Ratz had two doubles in the game while Hanson had one.

Isaac Ellison started on the mound for the Otters.  He went three complete innings.  He gave up one run on one hit, he struck out two batters, and walked only one.  Scheuerman was next on the bump.  He pitched two complete innings.  He gave up four runs on four hits.  Bethel came in to pitch the final two innings to earn the win.  He didn't allow a run, gave up one hit, struck out two, and walked two.

Game 2 saw both teams score one run in their first at bat.  Ratz drove in the Otters' first run when he grounded into a fielder's choice to score Bethel.

The Otters took advantage of some Rebel wildness to plate two runs in the second inning.   Back to back walks to Andrew Klinnert and Hanson put runners on first and second.  Aiden Schake reached on a fielder's choice as Klinnert was retired at third base.  Hanson and Schake moved up two bases on wild pitches, and Schake scored on Ethan Schwartz's ground ball to the second baseman.

DGF got a run back in the bottom of the second, but the Otters answered with three runs in the third and two in the fourth to make the score 8-2.  In the third, Garrett Kuhn-Rice doubled home Larson and Carston Fronning, and Klinnert followed with a double of his own to drive in pinch runner Isaac Ellison.  The runs in the fourth were both unearned courtesy of a couple of errors by the Rebels.

The home team didn't quit, and they made things interesting with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.  But the Otters were able to get an insurance run in the final inning when Jaden Miller reached on an error, stole second, and scored when Klinnert laced a line drive to center.

Klinnert led the Otters at the plate with two hits and two RBI.   Bethel, Larson, and Kuhn-Rice each collected one hit.

Alex Ellison started on the mound, pitched two innings, and got the win.  He gave up two runs on one hit.  He walked four batter and struck out three.  Levi King had a strong outing.  He struck out three batters en route to a scoreless third.  Klinnert worked through some wildness to record one out in the fourth. He gave up three runs while walking four batters.  Larson came in to finish out the last 1 2/3 of the game to earn the save. He didn't allow a run, gave up one hit, walked one, and struck out one.

The 13U team will now travel to Evansville on Saturday to take part in the Lake Region Babe Ruth Tournament.  Their first game will be a rematch with Parkers Prairie at 9:00.  The Otters won the first meeting 5-2.  The other semi-final has PRBA taking on OTC.
