The Fergus Falls 13U finished their league play with an undefeated record after beating Parkers Prairie 5-2 at Farmers Field on Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first inning, Parkers Prairie took the early lead with one run in the top of the second inning.  The score remained the same until the Otters batted in their half of the third inning.  Aikhem Bethel placed a fly ball perfectly between three defenders for a single.  He promptly stole second.  Jaden Miller hit a sharp grounder to the third baseman who airmailed his throw over the head of the first baseman.  This allowed Bethel to score the first run of the game for the Otters.

The visitors took the lead back immediately with one run in the fourth.  The Otters would even the score again in the fifth inning.  With one out, Andrew Klinnert hit a sharp ground ball into right field.  Luke Pearson followed with a line drive to right field as well.  Logan Larson drew a walk to load the bases.  After the second out was recorded, Miller hit a grounder to third.  After winning the race to third base, Pearson's momentum took him past the base and he was tagged out.  Klinnert was able to score on the play.

The Otters were able to deliver the knockout blow in the home half of the sixth, once again in a two out rally.  Garrett Kuhn-Rice laced a line drive to right field.  Lucas Hanson came into the game to run.  Brock Scheuerman lined a pitch to right allowing Hanson to advance to third.  After Scheuerman stole second, Jack Ratz delivered the big blow of the night as he drove a ball down the right field line to score two runs.  Klinnert then singled putting runners on first and third.  Pearson hit a grounder to the third baseman that bounced out of his glove allowing Ratz to score the third run of the inning.

Klinnert led the Otters at the plate with two hits.  Bethel, Kuhn-Rice, Ratz, Scheuerman, and Pearson each collected one hit.  Ratz had two RBI, while Bethel drove in one run.

Kuhn-Rice started on the mound for the Otters.  In his three innings of work, he gave up one run, no hits, he walked one, and struck out one.  Carston Fronning pitched the next three innings and picked up the win.  He gave up one run, one hit, walked one, and struck out two.  Scheuerman worked a scoreless seventh to earn the save.  He allowed one hit and struck out one.

The Otters will travel to Dilworth for a double header on Thursday.  They will then play in the LRBR tournament on Saturday in Evansville.  Other teams will include PRBA, Parkers Prairie, and OTC.
