Fergus Falls split a pair of U19 games with LaMoure on Monday.  After losing the first game 5-4, Fergus Falls came out strong in game two, winning 14-2.

In game one Dustin Duenow (5IP, 5R, 5ER, 5H, 3BB, 5K) started on the mound and took the loss.  Abel Aho led the offense going 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.  Jaydon Ollila also had two hits in four at bats.

“Game one was a back-and-forth game,” commented Head Coach Trevor Larson.  “We had plenty of base runners and had nine hits in the game, but couldn’t get the big hit to have a large inning.  We left ten runners on base.”

Ollila (4IP, 0ER, 0H, 2BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher in the second game and went 4-for-4 at the plate, scoring three runs and driving in two.  Arik Heacox (3-3, 2B, 2RBI) and Ian Stumbo (3-5, 2B, 3RBI) also led the offensive attack.

“It was nice to see our bats come alive today,” noted Coach Larson.  “Even in game one we hit the ball hard at guys.  Give our guys credit, they didn’t get discouraged and executed their plans nicely.”

Fergus Falls will return to action with a home double header on Wednesday, July 1 against Parkers Prairie beginning at five o’clock.
