Area Golfers Participate in Junior/Prep PGA Tour Events at Balmoral

Several area golfers participated in the Junior PGA Tour and Prep PGA Tour events at Balmoral Golf Course on Thursday, June 18.  Here are the results by age group.

Junior PGA Tour event
Boys 13-15 (18 holes)
Riley McGovern of Fergus Falls tied for 10th at eleven over par 83.  Jack Justesen of Hawley tied for fifth with Ashton Sladek of Alexandria and Sander Ohe of Edina at 9 over par 81.  Mitchell Dewey of Elbow Lake tied for 13th with a 14 over par 86, along with Lawsen Justesen of DL.  Peyton Mithun of Staples was 17th with a score of 134.  Evan Booth of Fargo won the event with a four over par 76.  Torger Ohe of Edina was second with a six over par 78 and Dawson Ringler of Baxter was third with a seven over par 79.  Charlie Solberg of Fargo finished fourth with an eight over par 80.

Boys 16-19 (18 holes)
Lukas Justesen of Detroit Lakes was first with a one under par 71.

Girls 13-15 (18 holes)
Annika Jyrkas of Fergus Falls finished first at 17 over par 89.

Girls 16-19 (18 holes)
Livinia Brasel of Barnesville was first with a 20 over par 92.

Prep PGA Tour event
Boys 10-12 (9 holes)
Marshall Dewey of Elbow Lake took first place with a seven over par 43, Blake Scholl of Alexandria was second at 8 over par 44, Cam Alt of Fergus Falls tied for sixth at 12 over par 48 and Matthew Tuel of Fergus Falls was eighth at 13 over par 49.  Graham Odland of Alexandria and Keaton Butts of Breckenridge tied for ninth at 23 over par 59.  Alexandria golfers Teddy Sansted (62), Henry Buttweiler (63) and Connor Anderson (64) finished eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth, respectively.

Boys 7-9 (9 holes)
The winner was Jackson Fogelson of Bemidji with a score of 47, eleven over par. Parker Christianson of Detroit Lakes was second at 19 over par 55.  Garrison Johnson of Alexandria and Lucas Tuel of Fergus Falls tied for third at 23 over par 59.  Will Brasel of Barnesville was fifth at 29 over par 65.

Girls 10-12 (9 holes)
Sophia Christianson of Detroit Lakes and Elizabeth Sticha of Alexandria tied for first with scores of 59, 23 over par.  Ella Brasel of Barnesville was third with a 77.
