Alexandria senior Mia McGrane participated in volleyball and basketball for the Cardinals.  She will be attending the University of Minnesota – Duluth in the fall and will major in Psychology.

“Sports have taught me many life skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life and has helped shape me to be the person I am today,” said McGrane.

“If there is one word that would describe Mia it would be COMPETITOR,” commented Basketball Coach Wendy Kohler.  “Mia is a hard-nosed defender that can attack the rim, hit the timely 3 point shot and penetrate and find her sharp shooters.  She is the ultimate team player and leader that has an old school mentality to do whatever it takes to get the job done for the team.  She is an excellent student and has a work ethic second to no one.  Mia has led by example being a multi-sport athlete in our school.”

McGrane’s advice to underclassmen is, “Don’t take for granted any lift, practice, pregame ritual, or memories you make with your teammates because time flies, so enjoy every moment with your teammates and coaches.”
