Kaylee Meyer just finished her senior year at Alexandria Area High School, having competed in Diving and Gymnastics for the Cardinals.

“My favorite memory in diving was my last dual meet in Willmar, breaking my personal record,” shared Meyer.  “In gymnastics one of my favorite memories was senior night on vault and how well we did as a team, breaking our scoring record in that event.  I also will never forget the feeling of landing my dismount on bars at Sections and how good that felt.”

“Kaylee was such a leader on our gymnastics team,” stated Head Coach Tayler Kaufman. “All of the athletes looked up to her for love, support, advice, and for a friend. Kaylee was encouraging to all athletes on the team. Kaylee is a leader in and out of the gym. Her drive and ambition is strong and motivating for others. She is fierce and attacks everything with 100% effort. Kaylee doesn't give up when things are difficult, she pushes and pushes until she feels accomplished. She was the first one to give someone a hug and the last one to leave the gym. She has worked hard during her gymnastics seasons and I am so fortunate that I was able to coach her. We will miss you Kayl!”

Meyer plans on attending the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities to study Human Resource Management.  Her favorite high school classes were Psychology and Macroeconomics.

“Being in sports has taught me about how to be a team player and use servant leadership in helping others,” noted Meyer.  “Although my sports were competed individually, I learned quickly I could have never done it without a team by my side.”

To underclassmen, Meyer has these words of advice, “Never take any practice for granted, it goes by faster than you could ever imagine.”
