Perham senior Caden Bormann called winning double state championship three times in a row in cross country his top sports memory.  In addition to being a member of the cross country team he also participated in track and field for the Yellowjackets.

“Caden is a loyal, coachable, awesome athlete,” said Head Track Coach Mike Peterson.  “He always did anything and everything I asked of him.  He was motivated and a pure joy to be around and coach!”

Bormann will be attending the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities where he will major in Finance/Sports Management.  His favorite subjects in high school were Math and Social Studies.

“Being involved in sports has given me lifelong memories and friendships with teammates I will never forget,” shared Bormann.  “I’m just trying to be thankful for what I do have, because this spring has proven that anything can be taken away from you.”

Cross Country Coach Jeff Morris said, “Caden is a bright light wherever he is at. He is very quiet, but his presence is felt by everyone. I have watched Caden grow up in cross country and in track and there are so many moments at practice, in competition, and in the classroom when the light that he shines is felt by everyone around. He has a true concern for those around him and it is manifested in his selfless personality. Caden is the kind of person that puts others before himself which makes him the most amazing teammate. I am so excited to see what his future holds. Keep shining bright.”

This is Caden’s message to underclassmen, “Always live in the present because before you know it things you were looking forward to will quickly become memories.”
